WPs for technology, demonstration and the way forward

The work plan strategy for UNITED‐GRID is structured into eight work packages (WPs) arranged in a work flow from market and policy recognition and foresight to state‐of art research and innovation, demonstration and preparation of market exploitation.

UNITED‐GRID is a combination of:

Development: Technologies (WP3‐5), business models (WP2, WP8) as well as regulation and policies (WP2, WP8). The development will render in solutions handling large amount of renewable energy generation, secure and reliable energy deliveries, which will demonstrated and evaluated live, all wrapped in a secure, resilient structure.

Demonstration: Including 3 large demonstration sites (WP7), covering the majority of European market
conditions. These are key activities to test and assess the state‐of‐the‐art devloped technologies and business models and transfer them to higher TRLs. The sites are essential for stakeholder involvement, public engagements, Proof‐of‐Concepts for the exploitable paths (WP8). The demonstrations will to a large extent be operated in an open industrial platform (WP6), rendering in added value for stakeholders and shortens time to market with a minimised risk.

Way forward and use: Through the GUIDE and scenarios developed in WP2, the project will support market stakeholder as regulartory and policy bodies to take logical and sustainable steps towards an active grid, and the market actors as DSO’s and aggregators to adapting roadmaps from the market‐situation today to a future demonstrated and visualised in UNITED‐GRID. The project has an ambitious innovation‐structure, leading to that the sustainable solutions and innovation business models reach the market in future, by e.g. securing resources for the next TRL phases, before project ending (WP8).
